These are the building blocks used by artists to create artwork.<\/p>\n<p>Each artist created an Elements of Art book with one page for each element.<\/p>\n<p>The first page was the element of line. Artists designed their heading with different kinds of line and then labeled horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines.<\/p>\n<p>The next page was shape. Artists turned each letter of their heading into shapes. \u00a0Then geometric and organic shapes were drawn and labeled.<\/p>\n<p>A color wheel was painted on the next page for the element of color. Artists started with only the three primary colors, red, yellow, and blue, and mixed them to create the secondary colors, orange, violet, and green.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/artwithmsbruce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1334\/2016\/01\/IMG_2792.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-835\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Texture describes the way something feels and artists created texture rubbings on the next page. \u00a0They also listed some texture describing words after playing a texture game in class.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Forms are 3-D shapes. \u00a0For the form page in the book artists made each letter of their heading look 3-D. \u00a0They also drew some of the forms\u00a0and added shadows.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/artwithmsbruce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1334\/2016\/04\/IMG_3290.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1232\"><img loading=\"lazy\" One way\u00a0to create the illusion of space\u00a0is to\u00a0make objects appear smaller as they move away from the viewer.<\/p>\n<p><a \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The last page of the book was value.\u00a0 Artists experimented by mixing white, gray, and black with a color.\u00a0 After the paint was dry, we labeled tints (white added to a color), shades (black added to a color) and tones (gray added to a color).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/artwithmsbruce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1334\/2016\/04\/IMG_3291.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1233\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
