<\/a><\/p>\nThey began by creating tints of a color while painting a night sky with a moon. A tint is created when white is mixed with a color.<\/p>\n
Then they created trees that appear to be getting smaller as they get farther away from the viewer.\u00a0 They painted their trees and then added implied texture to show a bumpy bark with oil pastels. Most artists also chose to add glitter to show stars in the night sky.<\/p>\n The final step was to add animals in and around their trees.\u00a0 The animals were drawn on black paper without any details since they were in front of the moon, so they look like silhouettes.<\/p>\n Second grade artists learned about value, perspective, implied texture, and silhouettes as they created these winter tree art pieces with our student teacher, Ms. McGowan!
