Second grade artists read the book “The Lima Bean Monster” by Dan Yaccarino and practiced drawing their own Lima Bean Monster.<\/p>\n

Each artist learned how to have their monster show an emotion or expression by changing the facial features like the mouth, eyebrows, and eyes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Then we learned about implied texture and each artist added an implied texture to their monster using oil pastels.\u00a0 An implied texture looks like it would feel a certain way, but doesn’t really.<\/p>\n

Students finished by painting their monsters using a watercolor resist method.<\/p>\n
