Please practice these words with your child. Spelling test will be on Friday!
Geer Park is embarking on our second year with robotics to further our STEAM initiative (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). We are looking to continue our First Lego League (FLL) team and FLL Junior team. We are recruiting 18-20 students in grades 1-5 to join our teams. If you are interested in robotics, designing and programming a robot, then think about applying to be on the team. If you think you are interested, write a short essay explaining why you believe you should be selected.
We will be meeting once a week on Wednesday mornings from 7:45-8:30 and possibly Tuesday afternoons from 3:35-4:30.
You will be selected on the following criteria:
Strong, edited, neatly written essay. Include at least 3 reasons why you would be a great candidate for robotics. It may be typed or handwritten.
Parents and students must commit to dropping off and picking up their children on time and committing to at least one Saturday competition in December (date to be determined).
If you were in robotics this year, you still must apply again if you wish to be chosen for next year’s team.
Write your short essay and turn in to Ms. Shalhout or Ms. Donoghue by Friday, June 8
