Special Area Assignments<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each day, students should focus on one special area. Our special area classes are a great opportunity for students to get a break from core subjects, supplement core subjects, and enrich their lives. We will collect and grade work on a weekly basis.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday – Media<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week we will be creating a spring drawing in Google Classroom.  Please go to your classroom and complete the drawing after watching this YouTube video from Mrs. Hansen <\/strong>Spring Drawing<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday – Art<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may choose 1 art project from the K-2 projects page on my blog at https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/homeart\/k-2-art-prompts\/<\/a> . New project choices are added every week. Once you have completed a project, take a photo and email it to me at brucep1@dearbornschools.org<\/a> or send it in a message on Dojo. Feel free to email me, or message me on Dojo with any other questions.Mrs. Masiarczyk and I are hosting a combined P.E. and Art optional BigBlueButton hangout for kindergarten, first, and second grades on the GP Specials iLearn page on Tuesdays from 2:00-2:40 where you can come to ask questions, show me art you have created, and this week participate in an exercise challenge! This sentence is a link to a video that shows how to log in to iLearn. <\/a>The enrollment code for this iLearn course is bryzs9 . This week bring something to draw with and to draw on (paper, pencil, whiteboard, marker, etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 I found this awesome website called Groove Pizza<\/a> that I\u2019d like you to check out. On this website, you can create beats using different percussion instruments. You can manipulate the rhythms and beats by using colors, shapes, and angles. Please make a beat that you enjoy. Once you\u2019ve created a beat you are proud of, press share and press \u201cdownload as audio\u201d. Upload that file to the google form here<\/strong><\/a>. Watch Mrs. Lograsso\u2019s tutorial for help here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other ways to participate: I am posting one mystery song a day on my blog! Ask family\/friends, use Google or Youtube, and figure out the name of the song and artist! When you think you know the answer, email the name and artist to me. Every right answer will earn you one raffle ticket. At the end of the year, I will pull a ticket and drop off a prize at that student\u2019s house! You can also earn a ticket by watching a Read Aloud on the blog and emailing me a summary of the story!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, we have come into some nice weather.  I have enjoyed looking at the pictures and videos of you working out or doing the activities that I have planned for you.  They truly warm my heart. I hope that you are enjoying them. If you are not doing my activities, I hope that you are staying active in the many ways you know you can. Thanks again for sharing.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please don\u2019t forget to submit your physical activity each day that you are active for at least 20 minutes on the fitness log. There are only 5 questions. It is very easy to complete. The fitness log is on my blog, top right corner. Answer the questions and submit. Remember to do this only if you made an effort to be active. This week we will be making an arts and craft project to use as we work on catching. If you have a baseball mitt or any other catching equipment such as scoop ball or a frisbee feel free to use them. Even if you do have something to use, you may want to make this as I think it will be fun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a list of everything you will need: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • a gallon or \u00bd gallon sized milk carton (harder to catch with a half gallon but worth the challenge)<\/li>
  • Scissors<\/li>
  • Tape<\/li>
  • Optional- stickers and markers<\/li>
  • Optional-aluminum foil for ball (do not use a heavy ball)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    SAFETY FIRST: Please be careful while cutting into the plastic or have an adult help you<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
