This week in language arts, all students should have two new notebooks to begin the 2nd semester.\u00a0 We will finish up our compare\/contrast essays on The Prince and the Pauper, with a lesson on theme and conclusion.\u00a0 Students will work in class to type their essays in Google Classroom and edit with a peer.\u00a0 We will begin a unit on fairy tales by reading Yeh Shen this week and Sootface next week.\u00a0 In the coming week, (date to be determined) students will write a summative compare\/contrast essay to compare these two versions of Cinderella.<\/p>\n
Monday:\u00a0 Notebooks due, Type and peer edit first three paragraphs of compare\/contrast drafts<\/p>\n
Tuesday: Theme lesson, complete graphic organizer on theme for compare\/contrast essay, review drama unit vocabulary for quiz Friday<\/p>\n
Wednesday: Conclusion lesson, complete graphic organizer on conclusion of compare\/contrast essay, type essay paragraphs 4 and 5<\/p>\n
Thursday: Begin reading Yeh Shen, complete any unfinished essays, review for vocabulary quiz<\/p>\n
Friday: Vocabulary quiz over Drama Unit (see vocabulary below), Continue reading Yeh Shen<\/p>\n

DRAMA UNIT VOCABULARY (QUIZ FRIDAY)<\/p>\n
