They will tell you what they are planning to do/want to play with/how they will use toys at home. The Tiny Seed

Challenge: Recall at least 3 parts of the story. 

LITERACY

Flower Name Craft

Materials Needed: Paper, scissors, glue, marker/crayon

*Draw a stem of a flower on a large piece of paper. (Your child can do this!)
*Cut out petals for the flower. Cut as many as you need to write each letter of your name. (Example: If your name is Hussain, cut 7 petals.
*Write the letters of your name on the petals! You can draw a circle in the middle and write your full name as well. 
*When your petals are done, glue them in order to spell your name around the flower.

This week we will be working on activities that focus on FLOWERS! We will use flowers in various activities to make our learning fun. The story today is one of my favorite stories to read at school while we plant seeds. If you have seeds at home, plant a flower with your child and watch it grow over the summer!

Flower Petal Math

Materials Needed: Markers/crayons, paper, dice, pasta/small toys (the links would work!) /something to use as petals.  (See picture below:))

*First, draw a large stem for the flower. 
*Second, roll the dice and count how many petals you need to add. 
*Third, add the amount of petals that you rolled!

A Map for Little Red Riding Hood

We are going to make a map for Little Red Riding Hood!
A map is a drawing or model to help people find their way around. A map can be flat and made out of paper, or three-dimensional like a model!
Think about all the things she passed in the forest, what would you put on your map?

You can use paper, markers, colored pencils, glue, toys…anything you can think of to make your map! Make sure to label the important places on your map.
(ex. Little Red Riding Hoods house, Granny’s house, the woods).

Egg Carton Math 

*Prepare materials! See picture below on how to prepare the egg carton. 


*Get two small items that can be shaken around inside the egg carton. (dice, small toys, 2 pieces of pasta, etc.)

*Put the 2 items inside, close the carton and shake it up!
*Open the carton-what two numbers did the items land on? 

Level 1: Identify those numbers and write them down. Count to that number.
Level 2/Challenge: Write those 2 numbers down and add them together! 
Level 3/Challenge: Write those 2 numbers down and subtract them! (Take away)

EXERCISE

Get Outside!!

Take walk, a bike ride, play in the back yard. 

Whatever you do, get some fresh air and take a SELFIE!
