Because of the Snow Day, the District will decide when tonight&#8217;s conferences will be rescheduled &#8211; one day next week most likely. As soon as I know which day, I will send home a note.  This might be a slight inconvenience for many. However, <em>please<\/em> make adjustments in your schedule accordingly to attend the conference with your 5th grader. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems many students have NOT been putting in appropriate work &amp; study time with their Math problems as evidenced by some of the Topic D scores on papers sent home yesterday. The Assessment for Mid Module 2 will be tomorrow. Please make certain your 5th grader is putting in extra practice today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I mentioned to many parents at last week&#8217;s conferences, fifth grade is much more challenging than 4th grade. (And it isn&#8217;t the same 5th grade expectations we had as 5th graders 20+ years ago.) It is supposed to be that way to get the students to grow &#8211; cognitively, emotionally, and socially &#8211;  and to be ready for middle school and today&#8217;s world. Please continue to monitor your 5th grader&#8217;s homework closely each night.
