{"id":304,"date":"2015-12-14T13:37:22","date_gmt":"2015-12-14T18:37:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/alabakoffj\/?p=304"},"modified":"2015-12-14T13:37:22","modified_gmt":"2015-12-14T18:37:22","slug":"week-of-december-14-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/alabakoffj\/2015\/12\/14\/week-of-december-14-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of December 14-18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reminders for this Week:<\/p>\n<p>Math Unit 4 Test. \u00a0Please also study multiplication facts with your child. \u00a0 Short, frequent sessions work best!<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday 16th&#8211;Pajama Day. \u00a0Students can wear pajamas to school and they may bring a blanket. \u00a0We are going to be watching a holiday movie with our Kindergarten buddies. \u00a0Students can wear slippers, but they should come in shoes.<\/p>\n<p>Friday 18th&#8211;Our holiday breakfast. \u00a0Students voted and wanted the breakfast again. \u00a0We will start making pancakes in the morning right away.<\/p>\n<p>Holiday Boutique&#8212;16th through 18th&#8211;Information to follow<\/p>\n<p>Friday 18th&#8212;All school sing-a long at 2:30 in the Gym<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are learning:<\/p>\n<p>Spelling&#8211;Our focus this week is the ou sound and spelling pattern<\/p>\n<p>Daily5\/CAFE&#8211;We are exploring elements of legends. \u00a0This corresponds with our Social Studies history as well, since many of the legends are Native American. \u00a0We will also continue with main ideas\/details.<\/p>\n<p>Writer&#8217;s Workshop&#8211;Most students are finishing their final copies of opinion letters. \u00a0We will do some holiday writing for the rest of this week.<\/p>\n<p>Math&#8211;Unit 4 Test tomorrow. \u00a0Students need to practice their multiplication facts! \u00a0We are having timed tests of these facts.<\/p>\n<p>Social Studies&#8211;We are focusing on the history of Michigan. \u00a0We are currently studying how the Native Americans used and adapted to their environment and how their stories were used.<\/p>\n<p>Science&#8211;When we finish some of our history unit, we will move on to the study of light and sound.<\/p>\n<p>Have an awesome holiday break!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reminders for this Week: Math Unit 4 Test. \u00a0Please also study multiplication facts with your child. \u00a0 Short, frequent sessions work best!
