Greetings,<\/span><\/p>\n

Welcome to the PreK-Kindergarten classroom for children with severe multiple impairments. <\/span><\/p>\n

My name is Kathleen Adams and I will be your child\u2019s teacher this year. \u00a0Since I will be spending a great deal of time with your child, I\u2019d like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself, both personally and professionally. \u00a0This school year starts my 36th year as a teacher for special education students in the Dearborn School District. \u00a0I started at Salina School, then moved to Howe School where I taught for three years, before moving to Snow Elementary where I taught for 24 years. In my 29th year of teaching, I moved to Howe as the PreK-K SXI teacher.\u00a0 Prior to teaching for Dearborn Public Schools, I attended Eastern Michigan University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree. \u00a0My certification includes a Michigan State Elementary Professional Certificate to teach grades K-12, with an endorsement in Special Education for grades K-12. I obtained my Master\u2019s Degree through Marygrove College. \u00a0I am married and have two wonderful children. \u00a0My daughter, Kayla is 33 and my son, Christopher is 28.\u00a0 Our first grandchild was added to our family in May of 2020. Her name is Allison.\u00a0 My son is expecting his first baby in November.\u00a0 Being a grandma is the best! I have found parenting to give me great insight and wisdom in my teaching career. \u00a0I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and playing outdoors. <\/span><\/p>\n

Teaching is what I was born to do. \u00a0It is a job I love and I feel blessed to spend the day with your child. \u00a0I look forward to a great year of exciting learning experiences with the students. \u00a0It is my goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment where your child can develop a love for learning and find great joy and strength in communicating with me and others. \u00a0\u00a0You will hear from me often through the classroom website about what we are doing in class and about special activities or events that are coming up. \u00a0If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. \u00a0Your support and input are most valuable to me. <\/span><\/p>\n
