In my 29th year of teaching, I moved to Howe as the PreK-K SXI teacher. Prior to teaching for Dearborn Public Schools, I attended Eastern Michigan University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree. My certification includes a Michigan State Elementary Professional Certificate to teach grades K-12, with an endorsement in Special Education for grades K-12. I obtained my Master’s Degree through Marygrove College. I am married and have two wonderful children. My daughter, Kayla is 33 and my son, Christopher is 28. Our first grandchild was added to our family in May of 2020. Her name is Allison. My son is expecting his first baby in November. Being a grandma is the best! I have found parenting to give me great insight and wisdom in my teaching career. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and playing outdoors.

Teaching is what I was born to do. It is a job I love and I feel blessed to spend the day with your child. I look forward to a great year of exciting learning experiences with the students. It is my goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment where your child can develop a love for learning and find great joy and strength in communicating with me and others. You will hear from me often through the classroom website about what we are doing in class and about special activities or events that are coming up. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Your support and input are most valuable to me.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Adams

Special Education Teacher

22586 Ann Arbor Trail

Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48127

313-827-7000

Greetings, Welcome to the PreK-Kindergarten classroom for children with severe multiple impairments.
