In addition to publishing their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dptv.org\/education\/resource-list\/#newsletter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">daily newsletter<\/a>&nbsp;that provides daily learning activities for families, they will be shifting their programming tomorrow \u2013 Monday, March 30<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;\u2013 to provide educational broadcast content for K-12 students on Channel 56. They are also providing additional learning resources designed to complement and extend the learning (see attached).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-light-green-cyan-background-color\">From 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, DPTV will offer blocks of programming geared to specific age groups \u2013 early childhood, middle school and high school \u2013 on its main broadcast channel (56.1), in collaboration with Michigan\u2019s public television stations and the national PBS system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-light-green-cyan-background-color\">While Michigan schools are closed this school year, DPTV\u2019s weekday programming will be as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Current PBS KIDS programming (Ages 2-8 years old) \u2013 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.<\/li><li>Grades 4<sup>th<\/sup>-8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;\u2013 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/li><li>Grades 9<sup>th<\/sup>-12<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;\u2013 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-light-green-cyan-background-color\">DPTV\u2019s schedule during those hours will be filled with PBS programming that aligns to curriculum goals, with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dptv.org\/education\/tv-programming-resources\/#tv-resources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online learning activities<\/a>&nbsp;associated with each show. The programs are designed to supplement children\u2019s learning and not be a replacement for grade-level credit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-light-green-cyan-background-color\">Parents and caregivers seeking traditional PBS KIDS programming after 9 a.m. will find it on the 24\/7 Detroit PBS KIDS Channel (56.2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-light-green-cyan-background-color\">In addition, DPTV\u2019s World Channel (56.4) will air learning programs for grades 6<sup>th<\/sup>-12<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;on weekdays from noon- 5 p.m., starting on April 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-light-green-cyan-background-color\">Because the new daytime schedule draws on many popular PBS programs, like \u201cMasterpiece,\u201d \u201cNOVA,\u201d \u201cAmerican Experience,\u201d and recent specials, adults who also find themselves at home will find it appealing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-light-green-cyan-background-color\">For new children\u2019s programming and other schedules visit&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dptv.org\/schedule\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DPTV.org\/schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-light-green-cyan-background-color\">All resources can be accessed from this page:&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dptv.org\/education\/resource-list\/#newsletter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.dptv.org\/education\/resource-list\/#newsletter<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-light-green-cyan-background-color\">Have a wonderful day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Monday Morning!
