{"id":321,"date":"2017-05-09T08:54:02","date_gmt":"2017-05-09T12:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ackerc\/?p=321"},"modified":"2017-05-09T08:54:02","modified_gmt":"2017-05-09T12:54:02","slug":"may-1-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ackerc\/2017\/05\/09\/may-1-5\/","title":{"rendered":"May 1-5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Middle School media time has been slower than usual due to testing, but I recently placed some very large orders for both media centers, so it&#8217;s providing me with time to process the new materials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>McCollough:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1st Grade:<\/strong> \u00a0Content Objective: I can navigate an ipad (search for websites, open\/close apps) and access a variety of digital tools. \u00a0Language Objective: \u00a0I can follow instructions and piece together objects in the correct place to build a structure.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Read aloud and discuss: &#8220;The Most Magnificent Thing&#8221; \u00a0Great book about perseverance and the growth mindset.<\/li>\n<li>iPad Demo: Abcya.com &#8220;Daisy&#8217;s Plumber Puzzle&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Independent practice building their own magnificent things.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2nd Grade:<\/strong> \u00a0Content objective: I can use blockly to piece together javascript commands and build a program. \u00a0Language Objective: I can can read and utilize the corrective feedback provided by code.org<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review code.org &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; Stressed the importance of actually reading the instructions before attempting to code the program.<\/li>\n<li>Watch the Level 7 video: &#8220;Creating Events&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Independent Practice (everyone should surpass Level 8 by this point)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3rd Grade:<\/strong> Content Objective: \u00a0I can use print and digital tools to locate and organize information. \u00a0Language Objective: I can use an online encyclopedia to find and record information on a variety of topics.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Intro to online encyclopedias<\/li>\n<li>Demo on writing complete sentences.<\/li>\n<li>Independent practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Middle School media time has been slower than usual due to testing, but I recently placed some very large orders for both media centers, so it&#8217;s providing me with time to process the new materials.
