It&#8217;s really cool because, essentially, they will be bringing their own imaginations to life! I hope you all have a wonderful break!<br \/>\nP.S. Thanks, again, to all of the wonderful parents and families who made our last week of school so AWESOME!<\/p>\n<p>-Mrs. Abdullah<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/abdulls2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1591\/2017\/12\/winter-break.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-361\" src=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/abdulls2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1591\/2017\/12\/winter-break.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"389\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Diorama Book Report Project <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Due: January 9, 2018<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>DIRECTIONS:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Part 1 \u2013 Diorama Book Report Scene: (20pts)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get a shoe box that is approximately 12x6x4 (does not have to be exact size)<\/li>\n<li>Line the inside of your box with construction paper, decorative paper, or paint<\/li>\n<li>Add details to the walls of the box using paper, paint, or anything creative<\/li>\n<li>Create your <strong><u>favorite scene<\/u> <\/strong>from the book by using any type of materials: paper, clay, play-doh, foil, twigs, pebbles, Legos, dolls, and other objects<\/li>\n<li>Put the <strong><u>title and the author<\/u><\/strong> where it is visible on the top of the box<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be creative and have fun!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Part 2 \u2013 Written Report:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your written report should be <strong>three<\/strong> paragraphs long.\u00a0 It can be hand written or typed on the computer and will be displayed next to your diorama.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Paragraph 1 \u2013 Brief Summary of the Book: (10 pts)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This paragraph should have a general topic sentence about the overall idea of the book.\u00a0 This summary paragraph should include the basic setting, main character or characters, problem, main events from beginning, middle, and end of story, and the solution to the problem.\u00a0 It should be written in a way that is interesting to the reader while giving the reader a <strong>brief<\/strong> understanding of what the book is about. (5 \u2013 8 sentences)<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Paragraph 2 \u2013 Favorite Scene: (10 pts)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Paragraph two should be about your favorite scene in the book.\u00a0 The scene you describe should be the <strong><u>same scene<\/u><\/strong> you decorated in your box.\u00a0 This paragraph should include a topic sentence about the scene, significant details about what happened in the scene, and a concluding sentence about why you chose this as your favorite scene. (5 \u2013 8 sentences)<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Paragraph 3 \u2013 Concluding Paragraph:(10 pts)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Paragraph three should include a topic sentence stating the theme or author\u2019s message.\u00a0 The body of your paragraph should include whether or not you liked the book and reasons and evidence to support your opinion.\u00a0 Conclude with a final reflection.
