I really enjoyed spending the time with my 6 month old niece!<\/p>\n<p>NWEA testing will begin this week!\u00a0 Make sure your child is resting and getting a good breakfast before school.<\/p>\n<p>Students started the NWEA Language Usage yesterday (1\/8\/19) and will be continuing to finish that this week. We will start a new test every week on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what is happening this week:<\/p>\n<p><strong>ELA<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Spelling words this week:\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">forgetting, expelling, transferring, equipping, regretting, flipping, wrapping, planning, beginning, compelling, dropping, referring, shopping, omitting, snapping, quizzing, upsetting, begging, swimming.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>We will be focusing on comprehension to be ready for NWEA.<\/li>\n<li>Writing we will be making New Year\u2019s resolutions and writing narrative text about roller coasters.<\/li>\n<li>Students should be reading every night at least 30 minutes!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will begin Module 2 Lesson 13 on using whole number multiplication to express equivalent measurements.<\/li>\n<li>We will also review coordinate planes in preparation for NWEA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Science<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will begin focusing on the moon phases and the lunar cycle.<\/li>\n<li>We will do an experiment to see the moon phases on a globe because it is hard to track the moon phases each night in the winter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will begin our third unit on colonization of the 13 colonies.<\/li>\n<li>We will focus on the New England, Middle, and Southern colonies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hope you all had a restful break and spent time with family.\u00a0 I spent most of my time hanging with family at home.
