Hello Families,
We have had many offers for juice boxes. Yusef’s mom responded first and therefore is the lucky one to send in 25 juice boxes on Friday.
Thanks for all the offers!

Dear Families,
I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend! We have another busy week ahead in our kindergarten class.
It sure was fun to see so many of you at Lindbergh’s Haunted School on Friday night. Hope you had a exciting night!
Happy Halloween!
Ms. Wright
Dear Families,
I think you set a world record! 🙂 Only 12 hours after I posted about the supplies we needed for Halloween party, all donations were spoken for. Thanks so much!
Here is what everyone is bringing for Friday’s Halloween Party:
After reviewing the list, we could still use 25 juice boxes! Let me know if you can help us out! Thanks!
Note: Although I received all of your comments for the party last week on the blog, when I would respond to your comment it would come back to me saying it was undeliverable 5 days later. Not sure why this is happening. However, if you look directly back on the blog, my response would be there. Thanks for your patience with this.
Halloween Party Volunteers:
Thanks again for everything!
Ms. Wright
Dear Families,
On Friday, October 31, your child may wear their Halloween costume to school if they wish. Please no masks or fake weapons!
Starting at around 9:00 a.m., the kindergartners will parade up and down the Lindbergh halls. Parents are welcome to watch and take pictures, just not of me! 🙂
We will have our Halloween party in the morning from 9:30-11:00 a.m. If you would like to volunteer to help us before/ during/after the party, please leave a comment below. Thanks!
Your child will need an extra change of clothes. They will change and place their costumes in their lockers after the party so they can be worry-free for lunch and gym.
If your child would like to bring a treat for when we trick or treat that would be great, but not necessary. In years past, students brought in clever things that were not candy.
Here is what we need for our Halloween Party: ( we have 25 students in our class)
25 Fruit cups- mandarin oranges
box of plastic spoons
Little plates
Napkins (lots!):)
12 apples-your choice of variety
2 containers of Caramel sauce/dip
Doughnut holes
Cheese and crackers
10 White bags with handles for trick-or-treating

FRIDAY: Return letter books today. Please come to Lindbergh’s Haunted School from from 6:30-8:30 p.m. You won’t want to miss it. 🙂 Make sure to visit to our classroom, you won’t recognize it!!
Just a few reminders:
Thanks for your continued support!
Ms. Wright
Dear Families,
If you indicated that you would like to be a chaperone on our upcoming field trip to the Plymouth Orchards on Thursday, October 23, thank you! Just an FYI, due to limited seating on the bus, we are asking chaperones to drive separately or carpool with other chaperones to the apple orchards. I will provide chaperones with maps and other important information next week. Thanks for your understanding!
If your kindergarten daughter is interested to participating in a Daisy Scout Troop, please fill out the yellow form that will be coming home today in your child’s red folder. Make sure the completed form is turned in as soon as possible. This can be done by placing it back in your child’s red folder. Please disregard the Friday, October 10th deadline. It was my mistake that the forms were not sent home earlier. Thanks to Kate’s mom and Josie’s mom for organizing this!
Lindbergh will be having a Kindergarten Halloween Parade on Friday, October 31st at 9:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to join us in the Lindbergh hallways at this time. Although it is a quick parade, it sure is cute!
That is all for now!
Ms. Wright
Hello Families,
Hope you had an enjoyable weekend! Thanks to Zoey’s mom for making playdough this month for our class. The students love using it to practice making their names, letters and words. Take a look!
Here is what you need to know for this week!
Book bags:
Sometime this week your child will be given their own book bag with a book to take home and practice. Please make sure your child reads the book to you several times . They need to return the book bag each school day. These books are from our school book room and do not personally belong to me so extra care is need. Reinforce good book handling care at home, such as turning the pages carefully and keeping the books out of the hands of younger siblings. As the class gets to be more independent during Daily 5 time, I will be seeing your child more often. For right now, our small group time is short and snappy. 🙂
Raz-Kids:
The students are coming to school very excited about using Raz-Kids at home. If you have any problems using the website, please let me know so I can help.
Halloween:
The talk of Halloween has already spread in our classroom. Your child will be able to wear their Halloween costume to school on Friday, October 31st. In years past, we have a short Kindergarten Halloween Parade at 9:00 am in the hallway. Afterwards we will have our Halloween party until 11:00 a.m. This way, we can safely be out of our costumes before lunch and gym. At Lindbergh, kindergartners are the only students allowed to wear their costumes to school, so we feel pretty special. More information will be sent home shortly.
PBIS Reward
Just a reminder that students need to stay on green 80 percent of the time. For the month of October, if they move their clip 5 or more times, they will not be invited to attend the reward. In the month of September, we had 21 students attend the reward. Remind your child to make good choices each day in school.
Until next time….
Ms. Wright
Dear Families,
I hope you are enjoying the long weekend! Here is what you need to know for this upcoming week:
Tuesday:
Wednesday:
Thursday:
Friday:
October PBIS Information:
Each month your child needs to stay on green 80% of the month in order to be invited to attend the PBIS reward. For the month of October that means your child cannot move their clip five or more times. For the students who either never moved their clip or did so 4 or less times, will receive a special reward during the school day. For the students who moved their clip 5 or more times, during the month, they will go to the reteaching room where they will learn strategies to help them improve their behavior in the classroom. If you see your child’s behavior chart getting close to 5 clip changes, please remind them that they need to make better choices so they can attend the reward, I will be telling them the same thing in class. This can be confusing at first for kindergartners. They typically think that if they were on green on the reward day, they can go but it is really about their behavior for the whole month. This will be easier to understand as time goes on in kindergarten.
Have a great week!
Ms. Wright
Dear Families,
In the next week or so, our kindergartners will be administered the NWEA assessment. This assessment is done on-line in our computer lab. We need a pair of headphones for your child. Please send them in a ziplock bag, clearly labeled with your child’s name. Some ideas to purchase headphones are at Target (in the bin area), Five Below and even the dollar stores.
I really appreciate your support!
Thanks,
Ms. Wright
PS> After this, we should be good with our school supplies , I promise!!
Dear Families,
We had another great day in class today! Our kindergarten scientists rotated through 5 Senses centers. Thanks to Ian’s mom, Isaac’s grandma, Kayla’s aunt, Charlies’s mom and my mom for all of your valuable help today. We couldn’t have done it without you. Take a look at cool pictures!
Please ask your child about the 5 Senses centers we did today. Ask them to tell you what are the 5 Senses? What was their favorite center?
Enjoy the long weekend!
Ms. Wright
