Valentine Celebration 2020

Thank you Valentine Committee for the SWEET and FUN celebration!  We had pizza and salad and fruit kabobs, cookies, and many other sweet treats. They had a “guess the number of candy in the jar” raffle, played “pin the heart on the robot” game, and “what’s in the box?” game.  They did a great job!  Here are some pictures.

Winter Celebration 2019

What a fun winter celebration!  Thank you committee!  We had a pancake breakfast in our pajamas with yummy toppings, fruit and hot chocolate.  Our committee had trivia, a “what’s in the hat?” game, and even an auction.  Students participated in a friend gift exchange which was loads of fun!  Here are some pictures from our celebration.

WHO DOESN’T LOVE A PARTY?

Our 5th graders will be forming committees for special celebrations in their homerooms. Each student will serve on only one committee for the school year.  Even though all of the 5th grade classrooms will be having a Halloween party, winter party, Valentine party and spring celebration, committee members will be responsible for planning a party for their OWN classroom.  They will meet several times with other students on their committee to plan the special celebration. Committee members will not only plan the celebration, but will also supply the decorations, food, and coordinate games and activities (with a little help from me!). This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn collaboration skills, cooperation, leadership and responsibility — all of which are essential as they move on to middle school and high school. They are very excited about this!  We will, of course, keep you informed of when each celebration will take place.

VALENTINE CELEBRATION 2018

What a blast we had for our Valentine celebration.  The committee did a beautiful job decorating our classroom.  They planned a scavenger hunt, raffle, and other fun games.  The food was delicious too, which included fresh fruit, homemade macaroni and cheese, salad and even fresh breadsticks from Antonio’s Italian Restaurant!  Students also brought treats and cards to pass to their class friends.  I don’t know how they did it, but we even had milkshakes that were made fresh in our room!  Yum!!  Thank you to the committee and for parents who helped make this celebration such a success!

WINTER CELEBRATION 2017

The winter celebration breakfast was very delicious.  Thank you to the parents and winter celebration committee for bringing, preparing the food and hosting the party.  We ate delicious homemade waffles and pancakes, fruit and hot chocolate.  The committee made the classroom look festive.  We even wore pajamas! The students participated in a “secret” friend gift exchange.  What a fun event!  I love to see all of the smiling faces!

HALLOWEEN PARTY FUN 2017

Our Halloween party today was a great success and loads of fun.  The Halloween Committee did a fabulous job organizing the event.  Thank you to all parents of committee members who helped make everything so wonderful.  The pizza, salads, fruit and goodies were all so delicious!  The committee really surprised me at how they set up the classroom.  We had a dining area, craft area, cookie decorating area and buffet table.  They set up, decorated, served, ran the activities, and cleaned up.  What a wonderful day!  Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.
