The Week of October 5th

This week we will be running a 1/2 day schedule all week. Here is the link in case you want to check the times for your student’s schedule:

We will also be running some in person learning labs this week. You will get information from your teacher if we would like to work with your son/daughter here in the building.

So excited to welcome you to the 2020-2021 School Year! It is going to be GREAT!!!

I am sharing the most current information but it could change we just have to wait and see and be patient!

Monday, August 31st- Teachers will be contacting their advisory students and parents to check-in with them and welcome them to the new school year. There will be no Zoom classes meeting.

Tuesday, September 1st- 1/2 day schedule will be followed. Each class will meet for 22 minutes on Zoom. There is a schedule in your email. I will let you know Monday how you will be able to access your zoom meeting link.

Wednesday, September 2nd- No Zoom meetings for 7th graders. All 7th grade teachers will be passing out supplies to you, the 7th grade students, at Bryant Middle School. I will be there so please stop in and grab your things and introduce yourself!!!

Thursday, September 3rd- 1/2 day schedule will be followed. Each class will meet for 22 minutes on Zoom.

Friday, September 4th- No School

Monday, September 7th– No School Labor Day

Tuesday, September 8th will be a different schedule they have or will email out those instructions from Bryant Middle School about how the schedule looks.

Happy Summer 7th Grade!!

Although this year did not end how any of us expected it to, we thank you for hanging in there and giving it your best and being flexible as we adjusted to on-line learning. We know that was not easy and we can say after today that “WE DID IT!!!” Enjoy your summer!

I know I had many parents asking about the summer learning for their 7th grader and here is the ELA information for your soon to be 8th grade students for this summer:

8th Grade Summer Learning Expectations:

  • Students MUST enroll in the 8th grade Summer Reading Google-Classroom where all materials can be found.  Enrollment code:  zyxt4ec
  • Students MUST  read 2 books from the assigned list (APPROVAL MAY BE GRANTED FOR ONE ALTERNATE BOOK- Complete the Alternate Book Form and receive approval prior to reading) . 
  • Commit to the two books by June 26th.
  • Book 1 will be read by July 26th and 1st Summer Reading form filled out.
  • Book 2 will be read August 26th and 2nd Summer Reading form filled out.
  • A  book presentation will be required in September. Details will be discussed in class!

I hope everyone enjoyed this fabulous weekend! I cannot remember a weekend that has been this nice. I hope everyone was able to take a walk or bike ride or visit with friends and family this weekend and enjoy the sunshine.

Super Sunny Weather Sunday!!

Your week 7 Assignment is posted in Google Classroom. Please submit and complete by Friday, June 5 at 11:00 PM. Make sure your responses are clear and thorough. You will be reading pages 137-154 on the PDF and pages 271-305 for the book. This week your assignment will be accepted on turnitin.com AND Google Classroom, you MUST turn it in on both platforms to be given a grade. Please make sure you are doing your own work, there will not be an alternate assignment given if you are found plagiarizing, it will be a 0. No work will be accepted after Monday, June 8th at 11:00 PM, this includes ALL assignments.

The assignment for week 6 has been posted on Google Classroom along with a video on Plagiarism. Please read pages 106-136 of the PDF or pages 205-270 of the book. Your assignment is due on Friday, May 29th at 11:00 pm. Make sure to follow the instruction given in providing a thorough response.  Note that points will be deducted for late work. 

We are posting the assignment without giving you individual access (in view mode only) because we want you to create a document to answer the questions without the questions being there.  Title your document Week 6 Legend .  So, we expect you to submit just the answers for  questions 1 & 2.  Please DO NOT REQUEST ACCESS – just respond to the questions in a new document to submit onto Google Classroom and then upload to turnitin.  

A few of you did not submit Week 4 and Week 5 homework onto Turnitin.com.  Note that you will not get credit if you don’t submit your assignments to both. 

Do not copy. Do not plagiarize. You will receive a zero for any plagiarized work. You will be able to complete an alternate assignment for 50% of the grade and no more than that.

Your assignment is due on Thursday, May 21st at 11:00 pm. (This is a day earlier than it normally is!) Make sure to follow the instruction given in providing textual evidence for each response.You will also be receiving grades for week 4 assignments. We have noticed a lot of plagiarism and the sharing of answers over the last few weeks. If you copy or share your answers, you will receive a zero, your parents will be notified and you will be given a new assignment. If you are given a new assignment for cheating, you will not be able to receive full credit.For week 5, you will be submitting your work on https://www.turnitin.com/ . Your classroom code and your enrollment key will be sent through a mass email. It will allow you to upload directly from Google Drive. FYI, your assignment will be compared to information on the internet and to all work submitted by any 7th grade ELA student worldwide. Do not copy. Do not plagiarize. You will receive a zero for any plagiarized work. You will be able to complete an alternate assignment for 50%.

This is your update for Week 4 of our novel Legend:

Your week 4 Assignment of the novel has been posted in Google Classroom. Please complete by Friday, May 15th at 11:00 PM. Please make sure you are thorough in your answer and provide 3 pieces of textual evidence to support your claim. You are reading Chapters 15-22, PDF is page 73-85 or in your book Pages 133-160. We have noticed a lot of students plagiarizing. If you copy or share your assignment, you will receive a 0, and your parents will be notified and you will be given a new assignment and you will not receive full credit for it. You can use Chapters 1- Chapter 22 (do not go beyond those chapters) for your evidence for this assignment.

Your assignment is due on Friday, May 8th at 11:00 pm. Make sure to follow the instruction given in providing textual evidence for each response.

You will also be receiving grades for week 2 assignments. If you need to improve your score, make changes on your assignment and turn it in again on Google Classroom.

As of now, per the directions of the district, there will not be a Google Hangout this week.
