Newsletter for the Week of December 15th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • Aya had a birthday over winter break so we celebrated this week! Happy Birthday Aya!!
  • We continued letter of the week by listening to letter “J” songs, reading books about things that start with the letter “J” and completing our letter J book page by painting “jelly” on a bread cutout
  • We had group with Ms. Staci and Mrs. Gallery. The students each made a snowman craft while working on their fine motor skills
  • The children drew in their journals
  • We worked on building stamina during read to self time
  • The children painted snow onto their winter mitten and hat with q-tips
  • We practiced color recognition with an interactive book about colored mittens and then the students colored their own mitten picture
  • The children are working very hard on independently feeding themselves. PLEASE practice this at home.  The more practice the better!
  • We made smoothies several times for snack. The children helped cut the banana, add the frozen strawberries, and pour the milk.  It’s a new favorite!
  • The children practiced counting and number recognition with the poem “5 Little Snowmen”
  • We read the story “Snowmen All Year” and talked about what we would do if we have a snowman all year
  • The children worked on recognizing their first letters in the names with our name book and stamping activity
