Newsletter for the Week of September 18th

PEEK AT THE WEEK

  • This week we worked on the core vocab word “want.” We practiced using the word “want” by requesting colored bean bags we’d like to toss, songs we’d like to hear, and hats we’d like to wear
  • We continued to learn about being a kind friend and sharing
  • The children listened to a story about sharing and then we talked about the different things we can share in the classroom
  • We practiced recognizing the first letter of our names with our class book and then we searched for the letters in our sensory bin and made the letter sounds when we found them
  • The students drew in their journals
  • We worked on building stamina during read to self time
  • The children wrote about how they can be a good friend
  • We celebrated Mrs. Kim’s birthday by making a friendship cake. We all helped make the cake by pouring and stirring the ingredients together.  Each student made a bowl of different colored batter and we swirled the colors together to make a colorful cake! We talking about mixing colors to make new ones, how we need to measure our ingredients to make sure the cake tastes right, and being safe around the hot oven
  • The children worked on their fine motor skills with puzzle and blocks
