Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal

 

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”

If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools.  Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years.  Continue reading

1st & 2nd Hour Geometry

Students went to the hospital today.

4th & 6th Algebra 1

Students continued to study absolute value equations. Also, students took their first quiz on sections 6.5 and 6.7.

5th Hour MATH +

Students worked on a project dealing with graphing various equations (equations with: positive slope, negative slope) and horizontal and vertical lines.

Project rubric:

Title – 5 points

Neatness – 5 points

Accuracy of equations – 30 points

Aesthetics/Creativity – 15 points

Following directions – 5 points

TOTAL: 60 points

1st & 2nd Hour Geometry

Today we continued to study similar polygons, section 7.2. Also, students took their first quiz on sections 7.1 and 7.2.

4th & 6th Hour Algebra 1

Today we continued to study absolute value functions – including graphing, finding transformation,

5th Hour Math +

Today we looked over solving equations. Students worked on an activity in which they were to solve for a given variable resulting in answers that represented letters in the alphabet forming a message.

1st & 2nd Hour (Geometry) –

Today, we continued to go over “7.2: Similar Polygons.” In addition, we went over homework problems that were assigned on Friday 2/5 on this section. For classwork, students worked on the “Golden Ratio Enrichment”, in which the task was to measure each part of the human body and represent it as a ratio leading to see if the golden ratio was formed. Tomorrow, February 9th, 2016, will be the first quiz covering sections 7.1 and 7.2: Ratios/Proportions & Similar Polygons.

HW – Practice Worksheet Section 7.2 (this will be counted as extra credit)

4th & 6th Hour (Algebra 1) –

Today, we went over homework worksheet on “6.5: Parallel and Perpendicular Equations”. In addition, we moved on to section 6.7 which is “Graphing Absolute Value Functions.” Wednesday, February 10th, 2016,  will be the first quiz covering sections 6.5 and 6.7  “Parallel and Perpendicular Equations & Absolute Value  Equations.”

HW – Section 6.7 #2-26 evens

5th Hour (Math Plus) –

Today, we worked on finding slope. In addition, we worked on an activity of finding the distances from cities surrounding the Mississippi River. If you haven’t turned in your project, please do so tomorrow.

HW – NO HOMEWORK
