Solutions and Solubility, Acids and Bases

The review ppt is posted on iLearn. They are the most basic concepts that will be on the quiz. Don’t think that the quiz will be a carbon copy of the ppt questions. You will not be happy if you do this. Here are some concepts that you should be familiar with and things you should be able to do tomorrow:

  • Know what a solution is
  • know the difference between a solution and a mixture
  • know the parts of a solution
  • understand unsaturated, saturate and supersaturated solution
  • be able to use a solubility curve graph with multiple substances on it
  • understand concentration
  • know how to calculate it or solve for it using the given equation
  • be able to differentiate between an acid and a base
  • know the properties of each
  • know what kind of tests indicate whether a solution is an acid or a base
  • be able to predict what to products of a neutralization reaction will be

Quiz Re-takes & Lab Make Ups

Hey guys,

So today we talked about this, but I wanted to put a reminder up on the blog.

Quiz Retakes

If you want to retake your quiz on Chapter 12 sections 1-2 then you  need to come in at some point this week or next Monday to get 15-20 minutes of extra tutoring before you can retake. We’re offering retakes until Tuesday of next week, so make sure that you  get in for your tutoring before then!

Lab Make Ups

If you were absent last week when we were in the lab, then you can come in after school tomorrow to collect your data. It is a quick lab that will only take about 15-20 minutes.
