Classroom Supplies

2

* Update for 2020-2021: Please don’t go out and buy any supplies yet as we have no idea how the school year will turn out.  Perhaps get supplies that you think you might need for home to assist you in completing your work.

Distributed: I will be distributing many different supplies to the students, such as color coded notebooks and folders for specific subjects. Additionally, students received a pencil pouch with: (1) red, blue, and black pens for correcting and editing their work; (2) a glue stick; (3) a highlighter, etc. This pencil pouch remains in the student’s desks for classwork.

Needed: Additional supplies each student will need are: (1) colored pencils (no markers or crayons, PLEASE), (2) a homework folder, and a (3) personal pencil pouch with extra pencils, (4) tabbed dividers for their Reading binder at school. (I supply the binder, but students need to purchase the dividers.) *Please do not spend money on other supplies at this time.

Extra: Boxes of tissues are always needed in the classroom – especially during the cold/flu season. Please send in a box of tissues with your child. We always can use disinfecting wipes, but if possible, please send in “GreenWorks Compostible Wipes.” I am very much “green” and do not want to add to our landfills with regular disinfecting wipes. Or … please send in a bottle of “Method (brand) Disinfecting Spray” (or another environmentally safe product).

Thank you if you can help out with any of these items!

***We do not need any hand sanitizer! Please do not send any in.

Snacks/Water: Students are permitted to eat a healthy snack, such as fruit or veggie sticks during snack time. PLEASE – no yogurt, apple sauce, or anything needing a utensil. Also, water bottles are acceptable in class as long as they do not become a distraction and are used responsibly. (No other beverage is permitted.)

Planner: In the past, the Howard P.T.A. has purchased a daily planner for all upper el students. It is my understanding they will be doing the same this year. Thank you, Howard P.T.A!
